Surf is a fun, sociable sport, which runs trips around the UK and abroad to popular surfing destinations. Surf is inclusive to all genders and levels of experience, and we welcome enquiries from those with a disability regarding the accessibility of Surf.
Our Club | Oxford University Surfing Club
Since its birth in 2002, the fun and sociable OUSC community has nurtured several generations of student surfers. However, the club welcomes members of all experience levels, and from all walks of life - you don’t even have to be affiliated with the university to join! We also welcome enquiries from those with a disability regarding the accessibility of our various events and activities.
As a club, we run recreational and beginner-friendly trips to popular surfing destinations around the UK and abroad! Every term, we organise weekend trips to Newquay in Cornwall, or day trips to the Wave Pool in Bristol. We also organise an international trip every year, usually in 9th week of Hilary Term, to destinations such as Ericeira in Portugal or Tamraght in Morocco. For more competitive surfers, we travel to Newquay every October for the BUCS Surf Championships, normally with extra spaces to bring non-competitors for support. In Oxford, we uphold our highly social reputation with regular bar crawls, picnics and ball games in the park, wild swims, and surfskate sessions. This club offers something for everyone (first time surfers, top shredders, and all the kooks in between!) so don’t hesitate to get involved!
