Oxford University Sport boasts a diverse range of state-of-the-art fitness equipment, split across several gym spaces within Iffley Road Sports Centre. Our main gym, powerlifting gym and outdoor gym are all available to members*.
Membership is open to students, staff, alumni and the local community and prices can be found on our memberships and activity passes page.
Many colleges also have gyms for their students and staff within their grounds or offer discounts on our gym memberships for members of their college. For further information on college gym access please speak to your college directly.
The Main Gym includes a wide variety of equipment to suit your workout needs from cardio and resistance machines to free weights and stretching areas. Access to the Main Gym is available to all ‘gym only’ and ‘gym and swim’ members or using a Gym Day Pass. Full details of all our memberships and prices can be found on our memberships page.
Main Gym Timetable
The Powerlifting Gym is a great option to train specifically for weightlifting and powerlifting or if you like to train with heavier weights. The equipment within the gym includes an Olympic lifting platform, two squat cages, a combo rack and an Olympic bench press. Dumbbells are available up to 50kg and we have bumper plates and bars to satisfy all your weightlifting needs. Access to the Powerlifting Gym is available to all ‘powerlifting only’ members or can be purchased as an add-on to gym or swim memberships. The Outdoor Gym offers a different way to train in nice weather and is also situated next to the Sir Roger Bannister Running Track, allowing our gym members to train next to the iconic site and add variety to their training with a track membership too. The Outdoor Gym contains suspended rings, pull up bars, monkey bars, a climbing rope and squat racks. Access to the gym is included in any of our gym memberships. *Before use of any gym all members are required to undertake a gym induction.
The Performance Gym is designed to offer strength and conditioning support to our talented athletes and teams. Equipment within the gym includes three squat racks, Olympic lifting bars and bumper plates, a large free exercise area with numerous free weights and functional equipment and conditioning equipment such as a Watt bike and a Versa climber. The Performance Gym is available exclusively for our student athletes and teams that are eligible and selected for our Blues Performance Scheme. All sessions must be supervised by one of our coaches.
