Kendo

Two people in a kendo duel with a crowd watching behind them

Kendo, “The way of the sword”, is a traditional Japanese martial art, similar to fencing. Originally created to preserve the sword arts after the need for the samurai declined, it has become a popular martial art and sport in Japan, and is gaining popularity worldwide. Kendo is inclusive to all genders and levels of experience, and we welcome enquiries from those with a disability regarding the accessibility of Kendo.

Our Club | Oxford University Kendo Club

Kendo welcomes members of the local community to join. There are opportunities to compete with the club, including against Cambridge in an annual Varsity.
