How did you get into the sport?

I've been running since I was 11 but started taking it more seriously once I turned 16. I had a great teacher at school who cultivated my enthusiasm for the sport.

What is your advice on balancing sport and academia?

Success in both academic and sport comes from devoting quality time to your goals, not from trying to maximise the volume of time committed to one or the other. The two are extremely compatible, especially if you use your sport to give you structure and discipline in your day-to-day life.

How have you managed training during lockdown?

I realised pretty quickly that my concerns about training solo or not on a track were unfounded. Running is an inherently simple sport and you can train effectively more or less anywhere. I also found the process of training on my own developed my mental resilience and has ultimately made me a better athlete.
