Sports Ground Location:

From Carfax tower: Head down St Aldates, past Christ Church and over Folly Bridge onto Abingdon Rd. About 400 yards after Folley Bridge there is a small opening on the left signposted for the sports ground, after the entry to the Brasenose sports ground.

Access is from Abingdon road, down a small road passing through the Brasenose ground. The pitches are close to the river and as a result are liable to flood.

The College sports ground is beautifully located on the southern bank of the Isis, within easy walking distance of all the College’s buildings. It has well-tended football and hockey pitches, an excellent cricket square and nets, newly refurbished hard tennis courts, also used for netball, and a welcoming pavilion, used for serving teas in the summer and drinks throughout the year, and containing spacious changing and showering facilities. Queen’s rugby team plays its home games at nearby University College sports ground.

On the opposite bank of the Isis in Christ Church meadow sits the College boathouse which is shared with Oriel and Lincoln Colleges. In its own clubroom, Queen’s oarsmen and oarswomen are able to use the minigym as part of their training programme.

Teams: Rugby, Swimming, Lacrosse, Hockey, Rowing, Football, Tennis, Squash, Athletics, Cricket.
