Oxford University Eton Fives Club is one of the oldest and most unique clubs at the university. Fives is played hitting a ball with your hands (while wearing Fives gloves!) in a court and four players make up a match: two in each “pair”.
We practice twice a week at Iffley Road: timings for the men and women’s teams can be obtained by contacting the team captains. Directions to the courts: head over Magdalen Bridge and at the roundabout take the third exit along the Iffley Road. Head along the road for 500m and on the right-hand side is the entrance – just before you come to a wooden fence. Head down the hill past the sports stadium and round to the swimming pool. Go into the reception area and ask the people on duty where the courts are.
There are fixtures against other clubs, schools and universities culminating with the Varsity match versus Cambridge in March in which the Blues, Peppers (2nd team) and a Ladies team compete.
Those selected for the Blues team will receive a Half-Blue.
