Funding for Individual Athletes

Funding is provided to individual student athletes directly and through clubs and colleges. The individual funding streams available are explained below: –

Richard and Eliza Blackwell Sports Scholarship

The Richard and Eliza Blackwell Sports Scholarship is an annual award of £500 to one individual. The award must be spent on kit, travel, competition and training. The selected individual athlete is also eligible for 1 year’s complimentary membership at Oxford University Sport including the Rosenblatt Pool and gyms.

  • This scheme is open to all student-athletes who are continuing to study at Oxford next year (i.e. not those currently in their final year) and from any sport.
  • These awards are intended to provide extra financial and sporting support for elite athletes (county, national and international level) and reward commitment to both University and high-level sport.

Applications for 2018-19 are now closed.

Sponsored Scholarships – BP

Our Sports Federation sponsor, BP, has kindly agreed to fund four sports scholarships to be awarded annually. Each selected scholar will be awarded £500 to contribute to their continued sporting development. Individuals are selected based on the level they compete at and their personal achievements. Please be aware that this funding is dependant on sponsorship income and as such may not be available every year.

Applications for 2018-19 are now closed.

Vincent’s Awards

Vincent’s club scholarships and bursaries are awarded through the Vincent’s Sports Development Fund. The fund currently provides up to £3,000 for six named scholarships, which can be split between equally deserving candidates, plus some bursaries.
