Where is the Sports Federation?

As you enter Oxford University Sports Centre ask at reception. You will be directed through the turnstile and right. Walk past to the end of the corridor with the gym and climbing wall to your left and sports hall on your right. We are opposite the dojo on your right.

What are the Sports Federation Opening Hours?

We are generally open from 9am to 5pm Mondays to Fridays

Who can take part in sport?

Sport at Oxford caters for everyone, from beginner to elite, recreation and performance.

How many clubs are there?

We run over 80 recognised University sports clubs in addition to a plethora of independent College clubs and teams.  From the biggest team sports that you may wish to continue from your school endeavours, to completely new and different activities that you could try – Oxford offers all the opportunities. Continue your hobby, augment your career or fall in love with a completely new sport – our accessible, supportive and diverse system facilitates both.

How do I set up a new sports club?

We have many clubs but we may not cater for the activity you are interested in. Please check that you haven’t missed it on our list of clubs or that it doesn’t come under another name. If you can’t find it please feel free to email the Sports Federation President to find out about the requirements to set up a new club. If the activity is not eligible to be set up as a sports club you may be forwarded to start a society with the Clubs Committee instead.

Do you compete in BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) competition?

Alongside Oxford’s formidable academic stature is an enviable sporting record; we are one of the top sporting institutions in the country.  We consistently finish in the British Universities & Colleges Sports Top 10. Our highest place finish was in 2006 when we came 4th, behind only Loughborough, Bath and Birmingham.

How can I apply to Oxford?

What are the course fees?

For details about course fees and the various sources of funding available, including scholarships, please see www.ox.ac.uk/feesandfunding

Do you offer sporting scholarships for applicants?

We do not offer sport scholarships at entry; student-athletes are not admitted differently to any other students and must meet the academic requirements of the University, with sport having a neutral effect on any application
