Triathlete Sophia Saller has taken silver place in her first ever Olympic distance elite race.
Only days after her finals, Sophia surprised herself by achieving 2nd overall at the 2014 Kitzbühel ETU Triathlon European Championships.
Sophia, who studies mathematics at St. Catherine’s College, did not expect to do so well being her first race out of Juniors over the full distance and this result only proves to show what a talent she is.
In the men’s race, Great Britain’s Alastair Brownlee won. Proving what a big event this was and result this is for Sophia in her early career.
Later in the weekend Sophia was also part of the German team that took relay silver. So all in all a fantastic weekend’s racing, and a lot of awards to fly home to Oxford with!
We cant describe the achievement any better than the girl herself so please read her latest blog post on her website here.

Well done Sophia!
