OXFORD HALF MARATHON: CALLING ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF FROM OXFORD UNIVERSITY

The organisers of the Oxford Half Marathon are calling for volunteers from Oxford University due to the close links forged between the both parties over the last couple of years. The event takes place on Sunday October 12th and the organisers would welcome any assistance for what will be a truly carnival atmosphere in Oxford on this date.

Events such as the Vitality Oxford Half could not take place without a small army of volunteer RACEMAKERS who direct, assist and support competitors.

We offer a £15 payment per adult (18yrs and over) and £10 per youth (12-17yrs), plus a limited edition RACEMAKER t shirt to wear on the day and take home after the event, and packed lunch.  Youths must be accompanied by responsible adults.

Many of our RACEMAKERS chose to donate their fees to charity, raising valuable funds for local community groups.

We still currently have vacancies in the following key roles

Course Marshals : adults (18yrs and over) assisting with road closures, and directing runners along the course

Start/Finish Marshals : a team of adults directing runners at the start and finish

Post Finish : teams of adults and youths congratulating runners, handing out finishers’ drinks, medals & goody bags.

To apply, please go to www.oxfordhalf.co.uk and click the Event Tab and scroll down to the Volunteer tab. Please fill in the details and especially mentioning that you are from Oxford University and we will be in contact.
