Gus Jones named in England U20’s RBS 6 Nations squad

Gus Jones OURFCGus Jones has been included in the England Under-20s rugby union squad for this years U20 RBS 6 Nations starting the end of this month. The 2013 Junior World Championship winners hunt a fourth successive Six Nations title.

This is not Gus’ first taste of International honours having represented his country at U16, U17, U18 and debuting at U20 level last year against Scotland and Italy, helping the side to win the title.

Gus, who studies Biological Sciences at St. Catherine’s College, has earned two Blues playing in the 2012 and 2013 winning Varsity sides at Twickenham.

Oxford born and bred, he first played at the Dragon School, progressing over the years with Eton College, Wasps and Oxford Harlequins.

He has captained Oxfordshire U16, Eton, England U17 and England U18, captaining the side to wins over France, Georgia, Wales and Ireland in particular.

The team begin their Six Nations fixtures on Friday 31 January away against France Under-20s at the Stade Leo Lagrange.

  • Friday March 7: England Under-20s v Wales Under-20s, Kingston Park, Newcastle (7.45pm, live on Sky Sports)
  • Friday March 14: Italy Under-20s v England Under-20s, Campo Comunale La Colombera, Brescia (kick off, tbc)
